The oversight Commission on access to information, celebrate the International day of Universal access to information , dated 27th September 2017, about 200 government officials, civil society activists, women’s rights activists, journalists, foreign and domestic guests, were participated the event.
In this event the findings of tow surveys; first held by oversight commission on access to information on examined the status of access to information in public bodies and second held Integrity Watch Afghanistan public awareness of the law and the right to information in the provinces, launched.
Based on these findings, three top public bodies (Ministry of Finance Rural Development and the Public Health) were honored by golden keys and three other public bodies which were not good in their performance on implementation of the ATI law, were punished by rust lock.
Seyed Ikaram Afzali, chairman of the oversight Commission on access to information, although criticized the government on lack of cooperation with OCAI, said that: the oversight commission on access to information proved that they can do Effective works with this low facilities toward access information and determined to change access to information into a culture in public bodies.
Then the findings of both surveys were described in detail to the participants and the prizes distributed the top three public bodies by the OCAI members
